I can finally play my Plexi without earache.
Even in 5 watt mode, and even with the Two Notes Captur attached, the Plexi was still loud enough that I got an earful from the wife.
So I’ve changed the setup. The Plexi’s FX loop send now goes into the power amp input of my JVM. The JVM’s master volume now controls the level, so I get the Plexi tone without the divorce papers. It also gives me a full 100 watt Plexi when I want one.
I was hoping it would run quietly, and it does. There’s no buzz or hum at all.
The Captur now sits on the Plexi’s speaker output, purely as a load so the amp doesn’t blow up. I could also use it as a DI for recording.
And I can still use the JVM as normal. Happy days.
