Good question, mostly because I owned one and I was asked to play one in a band.
The first guitar I ever bought was a Ibanez Destroyer style bass, in gold starburst, I was only 18 years old, brand unknown, but I do remember I bought it from Dawsons Music on Standish street in Burnley.
It cost me £125.00, I remember because it was half of my 2 week holiday pay.
It's long gone, sold probably for beer money, it was 1984 after all.
I've spent the rest of my time owning and playing many many guitars in various bands.
Just before the beginning of Covid19 I decided to quit from gigging, obviously not knowing what was ahead.
After a huge 5 year break I got a phone call, can I play bass, I was like, yep probably.
So now i'm back in a band, 10 gigs in and truth be told loving every minute of it.
